Sam 'Sammy' Pullano: Born with the Love for Bagels 

 

Growing up near, and working in the birthplace of the best bagels in the country - New York City - Sam Pullano, was born with a true love for bagels. After spending years working in the city - learning & honing his own bagel artistry - and serving such celebrities as Rodney Dangerfield, Sylvester Stallone, Judd Hirsch, Mickey Rooney, etc., Sam opened his first Kosher-certified, brick & mortar, bagel & deli shop - "Sammy's New York Bagels" - in Teaneck, New Jersey, on June 6, 1992.

Just a year later, in 1993, Sam opened his second Kosher-certified "Sammy's New York Bagels" storefront location, in New Rochelle, New Jersey. Though, both locations have since been purchased independently, the "Sammy's" name stays true!

After opening his shops in New Jersey, Sam had his sights set on expanding to the Midwest - specifically, Columbus, Ohio. AND, in November 1994, Sam opened his third Kosher-certified "Sammy's New York Bagels" storefront location on the corner of James & Stelzer Rds., followed by a second location in Grandview Heights, on Grandview Ave.

Due to the demands of the business, which included operating several storefronts, catering special events, and wholesales, Sam decided to expand his production business and leave the brick & mortar locations. Though, the Columbus storefronts have since flourished into other local businesses, Sam has kept his production facility, on N Cassady Ave., for nearly 30 years!

Having more time to dedicate to increasing his production & delivery services, he has been able to expand his operations in Central Ohio to:

- Offer Free Home Delivery service to the greater Central Ohio area. 

- Maintain lasting business partnerships with local entities and major corporate offices

including the entire Columbus campus of The Ohio State University and Wexner Medical Center, JPMorgan Chase offices, Abercrombie & Fitch Headquarters, The Hills Market locations, Staufs Coffee Roasters, Cameron Mitchell's Cap City Fine Diner and Bar locations, and many, many, more!
